RPE Carnival

Last Friday, we helped at an annual elementary carnival with Amy (that had over 1,000 people in attendance!). It had everything kids could dream of from cotton candy, snowcones, and popcorn to men on stilts, face painting, a "hair parlor", moonwalks, electronic games and even a rock climbing wall.

Everyone looked like they were having a lot of fun, especially the kids who won some extra sugar at the cake walk (their parents, I'm not so sure about). Natalie and I had Dagar's BBQ (which was fantastic) and took advantage of the photo booth brought by Say Cheese. Needless to say we also had a blast. While enjoying some ice cream, I couldn't help but wish I had a carnival like that when I was younger. All the kids friends and parents together on a warm Friday night, having a great time and anticipating summer. What a great opportunity to provide for the community and help out.

We greatly appreciate all the help from the volunteers and especially everything Amy did in putting the event together. I would say, another successful event by Platinum Weddings and Events.

Why an intern?

Interns can seem to be a little scary, but when you find great ones, you will be truly at an advantage. Most interns are currently enrolled in school and are looking to be in the wedding and event planning industry. They are trying to get their feet wet to see if this is EXACTLY what they want to do. Years ago, interns did not exsist. Many need college credits in addition to experience for a resume. We locate our interns through the University of Texas. We do not require a specific major, however you should assess what you are lacking (pr, marketing, graphics artist etc) and see where you would most like the help of an eager student. Since you are getting "free" work, do know that you either need to pony up and give them a job or know that they will leave at the end of the internship to locate a job that pays. They are not going to work for free forever.

Welcome to the Platinum Weddings and Events Blog

Welcome to the Platinum Weddings and Events blog. Due to the outstanding interns we have working for us, we have allowed them to chronicle our work through the eyes of an intern. We are excited to have a blog and look forward to watching it grow.
Enjoy!
